Eid Al-Adha festivities continued at the Cultural Village Foundation ‘Katara’ on the second day on Monday with a wide variety of events to entertain visitors, especially families and children.
Hundreds of residents flocked to the Katara Esplanade together with their loved ones to celebrate Eid in a colourful, bustling atmosphere and to enjoy its plenty of entertainment offerings.
The celebrations started at its scheduled time at 5pm and continued until 10pm as children had a gala time with the games, fun and the artistic activities to engage them.
Katara has designed its cultural activities for children by blending fun with knowledge to make the experience even more exciting for them.
Besides, the Katara administration distributed gifts and boxes of candies to the children as they usually do every year.
A fantastic musical show was performed before the visitors by the Police Training Institute. The Qatari National Anthem was also played on the occasion.
Meanwhile, the Al Thuraya Planetarium screened the first in the series of three 3-D films about space titled ‘Space dawn age’ on Monday. The remaining two titled ‘The perfect little planet’ and ‘The Astronaut’ will be screened on the third and fourth day of the Eid Al-Adha festivities respectively.
The screening is held at 5pm in Arabic and at 7pm in English.
The day’s programme concluded with a spectacular fireworks show on Katara beach.
The four-day Eid Al-Adha festivities will conclude on August 14.
