ABOUT 690 Filipino professionals from different fields, including engineers, nurses, electricians and teachers, took part in the Special Professional Licensure Examination (SPLE) held at the Philippine International School in Qatar (PISQ) recently.
Delegates from the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC), the Philippine government agency in charge of the professional sector, flew to Doha to supervise the examinations.
The activity was headed by Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) and the Philippine Embassy and supported by the Philippine Professional Organizations (PPO) Qatar, the umbrella organisation of Filipino professional groups in the country.
SPLE is conducted by the PRC in different parts of the world intended for Filipino professionals overseas applying for Philippine professional licence.
The Qatar examinees included 61 architects, 25 accountants, one chemical engineer, 118 civil engineers, three dentists, 26 electrical and computer engineers, 47 environmental planners, 11 geodetic engineers, 34 master plumbers, 34 mechanical engineers, two midwives, 107 nurses, five physical therapists, three radiologic technologists, 44 registered electrical engineers, nine respiratory therapists, one veterinary medicine, 15 teachers in elementary and 35 in secondary, 88 registered master electricians and 19 electronics technicians.
According to PPO-Q Chairman Jehmar Tabili, the results of the board examinations are likely to come out sometime in September or November.
