Algiers: Algerian protesters on Saturday stormed the headquarters of a panel tasked with overseeing a national dialogue and presidential elections aimed at ending months of political crisis.
The commission was meeting on Saturday to form a consultative committee of experts for the national dialogue.
The angry protesters, who stormed the meeting hall, chanted slogans against the dialogue and the head of the commission. They accused the commission members of “betraying the will of the people” and turning their backs on the peaceful nationwide protests that have been ongoing since February 22. (DPA)
