THE sixth annual edition of the ‘Back to School’ campaign for the academic year 2019/2020 kicked off in Doha on Friday.
The campaign is organised by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, in cooperation with a number of partners and supporters, under the slogan ‘With Education We Build Qatar’.
The campaign is being held at the Qatar Mall from August 16 to 24 and at KidZania Doha from August 18 to 24.
Hassan Abdullah al Mohammadi, director of Public Relations and Communication at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, said that the aim of the campaign is to enhance communication with the public, prepare school students to receive the new school year more effectively, and provide support to schools and educate parents and all those involved in the educational process. The campaign includes fun, educational, recreational, cultural and health activities along with providing traffic safety tips for the children.
Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Mohammadi termed the campaign as one of the successful initiatives of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education as it seeks to enhance the abilities of students and encourage the spirit of competition and creativity among them through proper guidance at the beginning of a new academic year.
He noted that the cooperation of partners with the ministry is the basis of the success of the campaign, where each party provides a set of valuable services to consolidate educational values among students and their families, as well as members of the community.
The campaign aims to prepare students psychologically for the new academic year by providing them with the necessary advice and guidance in this regard.
It seeks to encourage students to attend school regularlyfrom the first day of its opening itself. Besides, the campaign calls for active participation of parents and other stakeholders in the educational process.
