Qatar finished with eight medals, including two gold and one silver, in the third West Asia Junior Athletics Championships in Beirut, Lebanon.
Omar Obaid Abdulmajeed landed the 400 metres hurdles title, after achieving a time of 53.42 seconds. Hamza Souissi won the second gold medal when he broke the meet record in the shot put clearing 18.98m.
Omar Abdulhameed secured the lone silver of Qatar, when he finished second in the 200m.
Qatar had five bronze medals through Al Hafiz Madani in 800m, Khaled Zakaria in 100m and 200m, Al Zubair Hassan in 3,000m, Saeed al Ali in the pole vault.
Dahlan al Hamad, President of the Asian Athletics Association and Dr. Thani bin Abdulrahman al Kuwari, President of the Qatar Athletics Association, were also present on the closing day of the championship.
