Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al Thani on Monday condemned the attacks on oil facilities in Saudi Arabia. He said efforts were needed to end conflicts in the region.
“We condemn attacks on vital and civilian facilities, most recently Abqaiq. These wars and conflicts must stop and efforts must be made to achieve collective security in the region,” the minister wrote on Twitter.
Meanwhile, a Saudi-led coalition said on Monday the attack on Saudi Arabia that triggered the biggest jump in oil prices in almost 30 years was carried out with Iranian weapons, with President Donald Trump warning that the US was “locked and loaded” to hit back.
The Saudi-led military alliance battling the Houthis said the attack on Saudi oil plants was done with Iranian weapons and was not launched from Yemen, according to preliminary findings.
Yemen’s Houthi movement said on Monday that Saudi Aramco’s oil processing plants were still a target and could be attacked at “any moment”, warning foreigners to leave the area.
