A three-day workshop on combating human trafficking kicked off in Doha on Tuesday. The workshop has been organised by the Public Prosecution, represented by the Institute of Criminal Studies, in cooperation with the National Committee for Combating Human Trafficking and the British Embassy.
The workshop is part of the international efforts to combat human trafficking and aims to equip the participants with the necessary information and skills on the rules of international law and conventions in this regard.
The training workshop is attended by representatives from several official bodies in the country, namely the National Committee for Combating Human Trafficking, the Supreme Judiciary Council and the Ministry of Interior, as well as the Public Prosecution.
The training event is part of a series of training programmes to be held in Doha and London this year and early next year.
The workshop will contribute to the creation of a network of specialised
trainers to provide them with the skills and tools to help and protect victims of trafficking.
