QatarDebate Center (QD), a member of Qatar Foundation (QF), will organise the first-ever ‘US Universities Arabic Debating Championship’ in Boston, the US, from October 25 to 27.
The competition will be hosted by the Harvard Society of Arab Students with the participation of 130 debaters and adjudicators.
The championship will feature 24 teams representing prestigious universities from across the US, including Harvard University, New York University, University of Utah, Georgetown University, Boston University, Brigham Young University, University of Illinois, University of Chicago, University of Hawaii, Western Kentucky University, Duke University, Morgan State University, George Mason University, Northern Virginia Community College, Arizona State University, University of Central Florida, Ball State University, Marymount University, Tarrant County College, University of Texas at Dallas, University of Texas at Arlington UTA, Grand Rapids Community College and University of Minnesota .
QatarDebate’s tie-up with the US educational institutions started when several American universities and schools took part in QD’s annual international debating championship for the first time. Since then, several US universities and schools, inspired by QatarDebate, have started Arabic debate clubs and hosted debating classes. (TNN)
