The Community College of Qatar (CCQ) is participating in the 9th edition of the annual University Expo Qatar (UniExpo) being held at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center from October 16 to 17.
The two-day exhibition brings secondary school students, parents, school administrators, career advisors and key academic influencers under one roof to network and explore educational opportunities at more than 100 prestigious universities, colleges and academic institutions that represent over 15 countries at the event.
CCQ’s dedicated booth at the event serves as a platform for more than 3,000 visiting high school students and professionals willing to continue their education, with the aim of navigating through the college’s academic programmes that span a multitude of exciting fields and disciplines. The high-demand degree programmes are tailored to the needs of the local and international job markets and have been developed to meet the requirements of a 21st-century knowledge-based society.
Commenting on the college’s participation in the fair, CCQ President Dr Mohamed Ibrahim al Naemi said, “The University Expo Qatar reflects the constant progress that the country’s education scene is witnessing. And every time we are a part of this premier higher education platform; we proudly showcase CCQ’s growing range of academic offerings, as well as the various improvements we’ve introduced to enhance our students’ educational journey at the College.”
Visiting students shared their views on their future plans. Abdullah Ahmad, a student at the Smaisma Secondary School for Boys, praised the academic advisory services at the CCQ pavilion, adding that he would like to major in business administration at the college after he graduates from high school. Meanwhile, Abdal Rahman al Jaber, a student of the Tariq Bin Ziad Secondary School for Boys, pointed out that he was planning to study Arabic literature at CCQ, and the college’s academic advisors at the event addressed his questions on the study plan to follow.
As part of the college’s participation, Chair of the Information Technology (IT) Program Dr Mohammed al Dorani is presenting visitors and stakeholders with insightful information on the various specialisations in IT on offer at the CCQ. Additionally, Chair of the Engineering Technology (ET) Department at CCQ Dr Ahmad al Omari will be delivering a presentation on the College’s ET programmes and the wide range of technical roles that their students can assume upon graduation.
The College’s academic advisors will also be meeting one-on-one with students interested in discovering CCQ’s diverse range of learning paths while providing them with personalised advice and detailed explanations on the right programmes for their respective career choices.
